Paul Mitchell Schools 2013 FUNraising Gala
Future Professionals and staff from the 101 Paul Mitchell Schools raised over $2.6 million for 11 charities in their 2013 FUNraising campaign. A celebration Gala took place May 5, 2013, at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, CA, hosted by Dean and Cofounder Winn Claybaugh and deaf comedian / motivational speaker Kathy Buckley, with special guests Betty White, Fran Drescher, John Schneider, and Megyn Price, and entertainment by Sara Evans and Tichina Arnold.
Las Vegas Caper 2013
Paul Mitchell Schools' 2013 Caper featured a superstar lineup including Bravo TV's Tabatha Coffey, comedian and inspirational speaker Kathy Buckley, and Sundance Channel's Push Girls, along with stage presentations by renowned artists and educators in and outside the Paul Mitchell galaxy. Special guests included 5-time NAHA winner Vivienne Mackinder in a main-stage hair show hosted by Paul Mitchell Chairman and CEO John Paul DeJoria, Paul Mitchell Co-owner Angus Mitchell, Paul Mitchell Schools Dean and Cofounder Winn Claybaugh, and Paul Mitchell Global Artistic Director and 7-time Stylists Choice Awards Platform Artist of the Year Robert Cromeans. Roughly 3,000 Future Professionals earned their way to the 2-day Las Vegas educational extravaganza, held January 22-23, 2013.
Getting Ready for Caper 2013
Paul Mitchell Schools 28th annual Caper starts tomorrow! The crews are in Las Vegas, setting up the main stage, classrooms, Mall and Career Connection, registration, lounge, and more cool places to play. The artists and models are here - including the Future Professional Design Team and student models. Everyone's getting ready to welcome 3,000 Future Professionals who worked SO hard to earn the educational opportunity of a lifetime!
Ann Bowler Day 2012
When Paul Mitchell Schools' Dean and Cofounder Winn Claybaugh lost his good friend Ann Bowler in 2010, he wanted to do something to honor her memory. "During our time together, every time I asked Ann if there was anything I could do for her, her only response was, 'Just be my friend.'" Inspired by that simple request, Winn called upon the student-run Be Nice (Or Else!) Teams at Paul Mitchell Schools to hold annual "Ann Bowler Days." Each December, in Ann's honor, students and staff members visit nursing homes and senior centers across America, singing Christmas carols, bearing small gifts, offering mini manicures and hairdos, and providing love and companionship to their new friends.

National Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2012
In support of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Paul Mitchell Schools joined John Paul Mitchell Systems to raise money and awareness about this important cause. At Paul Mitchell Schools across America, Future Professionals and staff members spent the month of October 2012 participating in Making Strides walks, holding bake sales and cut-a-thons, and selling pink ribbons and pink hair extensions to raise over $74,320 for the American Cancer Society.

Caper has officially begun! Each year, Paul Mitchell Future Professionals have the opportunity to earn their way to Caper, an unforgettable educational event designed just for them in Las Vegas. With a theme of "Our Dreams, Our Future," Paul Mitchell Schools everywhere kicked off Caper 2013, with zany skits, guest speakers, entertainment, and fun!
Free Hugs Day 2012
On September 18, 2012, an army of 16,000 future beauty professionals took to the streets throughout the continental United States and Hawaii for our fourth annual Paul Mitchell Schools Free Hugs Day. "Our Free Hugs campaign is just one of the many ways our future beauty professionals show their passion and compassion in their local communities," said Paul Mitchell Schools Dean and Cofounder Winn Claybaugh. "As members of the beauty industry, we're in the business of helping people look beautiful. More important, it's part of our 'be nice' culture to help people FEEL beautiful." Dressed in their signature black outfits, carrying handmade "Free Hugs" signs, and naturally sporting fabulous styles, students and staff from the network's 100 schools put down their combs and marched out the door, heading for plazas, parks, and other popular spots to offer hugs and make people's day.

Super Service Saturday!
We had an amazing Super Service Saturday on August 25! We had three teams who competed in having the best performance and dollar amounts in these categories: Top Service dollars, Top Take Home (retail) dollars, Top Service and Take Home dollars, and Top Team in overall performance! We had Future Professionals booked back to back with appointments all day! Teams were encouraging and helping out their fellow teammates! The clinic was full of team spirit, with teams dressed in their team colors and decorating their sides with balloons and streamers! Overall, we made $2,617.39, with $1,671.60 from services and $945.79 from retail! Tuesday we presented the winners with their fabulous prizes of Paul Mitchell Pro Tools and Paul Mitchell product!

Forever Blonde Launch 2012!!
June 26, 2012 Michael's School-Paul Mitchell Partner School had a blast launching Paul Mitchell's new Blonde products! We had Kerry Sullivan, President of Paul Mitchell Northern New England, and Tina Lankowski, JPMS Regional Director of New England, come in to teach us all about Blonde's new KerActive complex! After that we had a fun and very busy clinic! Our Future Professionals were encouraged to bring in guests so they could experience what Blonde was all about!! Summer Special Olympics 2012 in Durham, NH
We were invited to help out at this years 43th annual Special Olympics at the UNH University campus in Durham, NH. Our Future Professionals had an amazing experience helping this year! Paul Mitchell Schools 2012 FUNraising Gala
Co-hosted by Marie Osmond and Winn Claybaugh at the legendary Beverly Hilton Hotel, home of the Golden Globe Awards, the 2012 FUNraising Gala featured special guests Betty White, Fran Drescher, Kathy Buckley, Kristin Bauer, and a live performance by Natasha Bedingfield. This year, the schools raised over $2.5 million for charity!

Michael's School annual job fair & auction for FUNraiser! We had over 17 venders come to our school to mentor our Future Professionals in job opportunities for Cosmetology and independent businesses. We had wonderful gifts donated to our school, to be auction to raise money for our FUNraiser! It was a fun day filled with great opportunities and personal classes from special guest artists for our Future Professionals!

Fantasy Hair Show for FUNraiser 2012
Our first, annual Fantasy Hair Show! This was an intense, but insanely fun hair show! Future Professionals and salon professionals alike competed to win the title from three categories: Top Salon, Top Future Professional, and People's Choice Award! It was amazing show, so many people came to support their favorite stylist! Thank you to Grand, a local night club for donating their time and space to this event! We raised $1,802 for FUNraising 2012! We all can't wait til next year!
US Open 2012!
Paul Mitchell's Mitch campaign gets another opportunity to be involved with Burton Snowboards. Burton Snowboards is the proud creator of the US Open Snowboarding Championships. The US Open has grown from a small event into the best contest for snowboarding in the world. Paul Mitchell The School's Caper '12
Paul Mitchell School's Caper '12 was an amazing educational event for our Future Professionals & staff! Tons of fun filled the event for our team as we organized a Caper Mall with fashionable Paul Mitchell gear, and a Career Fair for our Future Professionals! Mitch and Awapuhi “worlds” entertained everyone with arcade games, pool tables, photos, and a lounge for us to relax in from the long day! Truly a life-changing event, with great motivational speakers such as Marie Osmond, Magic Johnson, Robert Lobetta, Tabatha Coffey, and Kathy Buckley speaking from the heart and sharing inspiring stories with the enthusiastic crowd! Paul Mitchell put on several shows in the General Session! The different shows where presented by Paul Mitchell, A Robert Cromeans Salon, Kelly Cardenas Salons, Lunatic Fringe, and Angus Mitchell’s Beverly Hills Salon, and by a special Design Team who consisted of Future Professionals! The shows were fashion forward, creative, and fantastic! Most of the models were Future Professionals selected from different Paul Mitchell Schools across the country! Our Future Professionals had the opportunity to attend a fun and energetic white party and take photos with the Paul Mitchell creative team! Education is very important to Paul Mitchell, every Future Professional experienced 2 hours filled with new cutting, coloring, and styling classes given by every member of the Paul Mitchell team! We love to be inspired by the Paul Mitchell culture, and hope that everyone who went learned something new and realized how amazing the industry can be!

Students and staff members from the nationwide network of cosmetology schools flocked to nursing homes and senior centers during the month of December, singing Christmas carols, bearing small gifts, and offering mini manicures and hairdos. Most important, they provided love and companionship to their new friends.

Veteran's Day
Michael's School had a memorial service for our Veterans on November 11, 2011. Our very own Future Professional Chris P served and held the flag during our service! Michael's Future Professionals traveled 3 weekends to ski resorts in northern New Hampshire. The event was the Burtons Mountain Dew Classic to educate the snowboarders and fans on Paul Mitchell products and the Paul Mitchell Culture.

An amazing evening put together to help raise money for our FUN - Raising efforts. We raised alot of moey from ticket sales, 50-50 raffles, mini auction and prizes galore! 100% of all money raised will go to help 7 different foundations.

Paul Mitchell Future Professionals mingled with salon representatives, practiced their interview skills, learned about career opportunities in top salons, and took part in hands-on haircutting, color, and skin care classes at the 26th annual Caper in Las Vegas, Feb. 9-10, 2011.

Future professionals and staff members at Paul Mitchell schools earned their way to an all expense paid trip to Las Vegas. They learned from the industries top leaders - cuts, colors, styles, and incredible new collections. They partied with all of them after the 3 days of training during Paul Mitchell' s white party! It was a truly memorable experience.

Ann Bowler Day, December 2010
After his 92-year-old friend Ann Bowler passed away in December, Paul Mitchell Schools Dean and Cofounder called on his staff and Future Professionals to find and visit a local nursing home, retirement home, or assisted living center and create some magic by bringing gifts (if appropriate), singing carols, reaching out to these adorable individuals. He also reminded them to sincerely thank the nurses, doctors, and caregivers who look after these beautiful people. "I realize that this time of the year is very busy for all of you," Winn said. "Actually, I can't think of a better time of year because many elderly people feel especially alone during the holidays. Mostly you'll be there providing love, a hug, and companionship. Each and every time I asked Ann if there was anything I could do for her, her one and only response was, 'Just be my friend.'"
Girls Scouts
The Girls Scout Troop 20214 from Londonderry, NH joined our Paul Mitchell school to earn their Beauty Badges! They had an amazing day filled with games, prizes, activities, contests, awards and gift bags for all their hard work! Congratulations!
Next Top Photo Stylist 2010
Three talented Future Professionals from the nationwide network of Paul Mitchell Schools have been named "Next Top Photo Stylist" by Paul Mitchell Editorial Director Lucie Doughty and a panel of distinguished judges. Elizabeth Ankenman from Paul Mitchell The School - St. George, Erik McEwen from Paul Mitchell The School - Sherman Oaks, and Heather Burnworth of Paul Mitchell The School - Salt Lake City were named winners in the recent competition, which drew over 130 entries. Elizabeth, Erik, and Heather will travel to Los Angeles in January for a two-day photo shoot with Lucie Doughty, where each winner will shoot one model with three separate style looks.
Haiti Fundraising
In immediate response to Haiti's devastating earthquake, Paul Mitchell Schools Dean and Cofounder Winn Claybaugh called for a nationwide fundraising day. "Our goal is $1,000 per school, times our 100 schools, for a total of $100,000," Winn said. The schools rose to the challenge and raised over $83,500 within two weeks. A personal donation from John Paul DeJoria, chairman and cofounder of John Paul Mitchell Systems, brought the total to $100,000. Future Professionals broke from their signature black outfits to hold "Casual for a Cause" days, donating money to dress casually for the day. They also invited family, friends, and guests to "buy" paper bottles for Haiti relief, donated tips, and held a number of other activities, from bake sales to benefit concerts.

Over 2,000 Paul Mitchell cosmetology and skin care Future Professionals sold $2 million in Paul Mitchell products to attend the three-day Las Vegas event, where they received hands-on classes with the Paul Mitchell and Advanced Academy Artistic Teams and educators. Skin care Future Professionals also had a day of education at the Dermal Institute.
SCREAM FEST with Canobie Lake Park
Our Future Professionals were chosen to help Canobie Lake Park with SCREAM FEST for the month of October. They will be creating all the scary monsters, fairies, zombies and scary happenings this Halloween. It's an amazing opportunity to add their creative spooky madness for a super scary Halloween. Boys and Girls "Day for Kids" Event
Design Team Members organized a kids salon to celebrate a "Day for Kids" with the Boys and Girls club. It was an amazing day filled with beautiful new looks, lots of smiles, and great memories for all.
Paul Mitchell Gathering 2010
The incredible 30-year anniversary Paul Mitchell Gathering welcomed over 3,000 people from all over the world! The first night featured a 2-hour artistry event, including our amazing Paul Mitchell Future Professionals. Although there are thousands of Visionary Future Professionals who deserved to participate, we could only choose 16 -- 8 to model and 8 to do all the hair and makeup, led and mentored by the amazing George Morales of our Paul Mitchell Advanced Academy.
American Red Cross Blood Drive
Paul Mitchell Future Professionals from Michae'ls school teamed up with the American Red Cross to help collect 57 pints of blood to help those in need. They also donated complimentary manicures and prizes to everyone who participated in the blood drive.
What Inspires You Tour
Our Future Professionals assisted Paul Mitchell's top Artistic Directors in the "What Inspires You Tour" happening all over the United States. This event was held at the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom
